The small scale stormwater sizing tool was developed by Stone Environmental to complement and work with the model LID Stormwater Management Bylaw developed by the Vermont League of Cities and Towns in partnership with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation Ecosystem Restoration Program. The sizing tool is intended for sites with up to ½ acre of impervious surfaces and no more than 10,000 sq. ft. of impervious cover flowing into a single practice. In Vermont, these are sites that fall below the threshold for stormwater permitting.
The Excel spreadsheet sizing tool allows the user to fill in project information and use practice specific spreadsheets to size an individual practice. Fact sheets covering 10 practices, all based on capturing 1” of runoff, are also available. Fact sheets also include construction sequencing.
This tool was developed to be a companion to the VLCT LID/GI stormwater management bylaw that recommends development exceeding 2,500 sq. ft. of impervious surface demonstrate that the first 1” of rainfall is captured and treated prior to being released to surface waters.
