Over four years, Mt. Cuba Center evaluated 46 different selections of Baptisia. Their best performers all feature good flowering, moderate size and attractive, sturdy foliage. A long-lived, deep-rooted native perennial Baptisia is ultra-low-maintenance. Deer don’t like them, native bees and other beneficial insects do. It’s a great choice for full sun difficult locations.
