Anyone can download the Sustainable Landscape Maintenance Manual for the Chesapeake Bay Watershed written by landscape architect Cheryl Corson. Practioners engaging in the Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP) Certification may already be familiar with the manual, which provides an overview of the most important landscape maintenance considerations covered.
The manual is useful for crafting LMPs, (landscape maintenance plans) that incorporate sustainable practices. While it focusses on stormwater and TMDL rules for the Chesapeake area (Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia), the principles are applicable everywhere. The plan is to keep it current with periodic updates. You’ll find sections covering the areas of landscape maintenance that are regulated, as well as worksheets and templates.
Development of the document was funded by the District of Colombia Department of Energy and Environment and the Low Impact Development Center, with Maryland Sea Grant providing editing and design support.
