The geographically located computerized game icons may be “captured” at popular public art, heritage or other special outdoor locations. I was delighted to learn from Daniel Currin, GreenScape Inc. that this Living Wall at Cameron Village down the street from my house in Raleigh, NC has been a Pokémon Go spot. Leslie Herndon, designer and part of the leadership team at GreenScape Inc. is responsible for creating the trendy, artsy look using plants grown by Plantworks Nursery. The design of GreenScape’s art walls morphs year-to-year and seasonally. It’s nice to know that horticulture in such a beautiful and maintained form can also be functional by getting people outside moving, talking and creating a sense of community. Actually, this Daniels Street plant wall has been talked about in the neighborhood long before Pokémon Go was a game.
